- What was your best 2022 business growth tactic?
- Actual strategic approach to BFCM planning it out more than a week before and approach it holistically across VIP access, email, ads, ambassadors, landing pages (we really dialed into LPs Q4 which was great). Partnership outreach and brand building, partnered with over 25 brands in just Q4.
- What's something that failed in 2022?
- long form blog content, it didn't help traffic or drive revenue - so we're all in on video content for Q1 2023 emphasizing emotive testimonials and instead re-crafting old blogs to help with SEO.
- What's an ask of this group for the new year?
- To offer direct and comprehensive feedback as we release new products - you will not hurt my feelings!
- What's one thing you can help this group with?
- Introductions to other brands in the health/wellness/fitness space and athletes plus serve as a sounding board on all things brand/marketing
- What was your best 2022 personal growth tactic?
- working on better communication and processes to streamline internal comms as our team grows - this was heavy on the admin side but we have the tools in place to track efficacy and hold the team accountable. It also helps me be a better manager and leader.

💊 **Chris Orcutt -** Fractional Head of Growth for Health & Wellness Startups
- What was your best 2022 business growth tactic?
- Using LinkedIn connection requests to close partnerships and get $1,000s of free product. I was running a bathroom takeover campaign to promote a natural medicine kit for PMS. I googled for the top 10 startups in women's health, then sent connection requests to everyone that worked at all of those companies with a message like: "Jill - can you intro me to someone at Cora? I'm organizing a "bloody bathroom takeover" for period health in Portland, OR for Halloween. I have a 10-person crew and we're putting tampons in 100 bathrooms across the city. I'm looking for a partner to donate 1,000 tampons. Incredible media opp."
- What's something that failed in 2022?
- We printed 350 physical posters and slapped them on the 7 streets with the highest foot traffic in Portland, OR. We only got 6 leads from the campaign at about $25 per lead.
- What's an ask of this group for the new year?
- How can we do a better job of leveraging each other for growth wins? Is there a way to change the format of the meetings/group to make it higher value for everyone?
- What's one thing you can help this group with?
- I'll record a 2-minute loom video breaking down any of your landing pages and giving you specific feedback on experiments to run.
- What was your best 2022 personal growth tactic?
- I added breathwork to my morning practice this year and it's been a game changer. My new morning routine looks like: 15 mins of yoga, 5 to 15 mins of breathwork, 1/10g microdose of psilocybin mushrooms (4 days a week). That's my trifecta for mind, body, spirt alignment

🌀 **Hannah Vancuren -** Affiliates, Podcasts, and Partnerships @ Mindbloom
- What was your best 2022 business growth tactic?
- Launching subnetworks in our affiliate program led to 275% incremental QoQ channel growth in Q4, while also increasing spend efficiency.
- What's something that failed in 2022?
- We took multiple big swings in podcast test shows that didn't back into our CAC target. We spent too much, took too much vertical risk, and saw QoQ efficiencies get eaten up by test budget.
- What's an ask of this group for the new year?
- I'm working towards finding my ikigai, and I'd love to hear from marketing pros with more experience to learn how they found theirs.
- What's one thing you can help this group with?
- I have extensive affiliate experience across industries and with publishers positioned throughout the funnel. Happy to make introductions, dive into gritty affiliate details, and showcase how we assess for affiliate incrementality at Mindbloom.
- What was your best 2022 personal growth tactic?
-
2022 was a year of intense highs and lows for me. I caught a 50lb halibut in Alaska (first fish ever!), put in my first offer on a house, and got engaged to the love of my life.
In October, my fiance died unexpectedly in our home, and I've shifted from unparalleled joy into acute grief. My personal growth tactics through all this change have been to go easy on myself, let myself feel what I need to feel in real time (which has included crying on work calls), and embrace the peaks and depths of the human experience ❤️

- Not so much a fail, but adjusting to a national role where I had 2-3 weeks per event to develop local partnerships from the ground up was tough.
- What's an ask of this group for the new year?
- I'd love to collaborate for cross marketing partnerships!

🫁 Lola Martinez - Partnerships & Community Lead at Othership
- What was your best 2022 business growth tactic?
- Big podcast features & cold email outreach service.
- What's something that failed in 2022?
- Wouldn't say complete failure, but haven't cracked the online global community code. Experimented with discord, whatsapp, newsletter updates.. would love to create a more cohesive, collaborative, synergistic feel for our community outside of IRL events. Also, affiliate management largely manual up until now - no public facing dashboard created friction & extra effort to continually nurture and keep partners up-to-date on stats.
